The following instructions are a workaround for Mac users with VMWare2:
Make sure that the VMWare Fusion is closed
Double click on your Hard Drive Icon
Double click the "(Your name here)" folder
Double click the "Documents" folder
Double click the "Virtual Machines" folder
When you see your specific Virtual Machine, right click and select, "Show package Contents"
Right click on the file with the .VMX extension. Choose open, using open with->other and then choose "Text Edit" from the list

Start VMWare Fusion
Start your Virtual Machine - using the USB cable, connect your powered up detector to your USB port. After a few seconds you will see a couple of rectangles added to the "VMWare taskbar" on the bottom right side of the screen
"Hover" the mouse over these rectangles until you see "Connect your Cygnal Integrated Passport 9500ix" to this virtual machine - left click
Left click again to select
You will be shown a message that states "This VM is trying to claim "Cygnal Integrated Passport 9500ix" - click "ok"
You are now ready to use your 9500ix and Escort Detector Tools with your Mac
