Harley-Davidson and ESCORT present the new Road Tech™ 75 Radar / Laser Detector

West Chester, OH - July 22, 2004: Harley-Davidson Motor Company (www.harley-davidson.com) and ESCORT Inc. (www.escortradar.com), in a co-branded venture, have announced the release of the Road Tech™ 75 radar and laser detector. Designed exclusively for Harley-Davidson, the Road Tech™ 75 is designed to integrate with several touring bikes, including the Electra Glide® and Road Glide® models. Unique mounts for each model provides seamless integration for a factory-installed look with all the performance you'd expect from Escort.

The Road Tech™ 75 detector takes into account the motorcyclist's needs in every detail. Road Tech™ 75 detector users will benefit from motorcycle specific features including:

• left-handed controls (facilitate the driver's need for continuous control of the right-handed brake/throttle)
• amplified audio alerts to overcome increased road noise environment
• easy access headphone jack for private listening or interfacing with standard headset communication systems
• brilliant LED display that's easy to read under extreme ambient lighting conditions
• fully customized housing that contends with the rugged elements including rain and constant vibration

Utilizing ESCORT's world-class radar and laser detection platforms, engineers designed the Road Tech™ 75 detector to include all of its latest features, including the latest radar threat known as "POP" mode. The unit utilizes advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to eliminate false alarms and has the capability to detect and display up to 8 radar threats simultaneously. As an added benefit, the Road Tech™ 75 also detects and displays Safety Warning Messages (SWS is a nationwide warning system that alerts drivers of hazardous road conditions, approaching emergency vehicles, and several other safety messages). Other bike-specific features include automatic brightness control, extra-bright power on/off button which doubles as an alert lamp, and 8 user-selectable programming options.
