ESCORT Inc. Launches Spring 'Tune Up & Test Drive' Event
ESCORT Inc., a leading manufacturer of premium automotive electronic accessories, has just announced the launch of its national Spring Tune Up & Test Drive
event.
West Chester, Ohio March 25, 2011 -- ESCORT Inc., the leading manufacturer of premium automotive electronic accessories and maker of the world's best radar and laser
detectors announced its Spring Tune Up & Test Drive Event. The "Tune Up & Test Drive Event" is targeted to customers who have earlier model year ESCORT
radar detectors. "Our goal with the Tune Up event is to educate consumers, who own older model detectors, about our Traffic Signal Rejection software that helps
protect them against new technologies that unintentionally create false alerts when they drive," said Dave Smidebush, ESCORT's Vice-president of Marketing. "As
the category leading innovator, we are always on the lookout for improved protection and peace of mind for our ESCORT family of protected consumers," he added.
The Tune Up & Test Drive Event focuses on providing ESCORT consumers with older model detectors new Traffic Signal Rejection Software that directly works to counter
the unintentional increase in false alerts occurring in their older model detectors as they encounter traffic sensor monitors, the source of the falser alerts. ESCORT's
proprietary Traffic Sensor Rejection Software was designed specifically to eliminate those false alerts that originate from the traffic monitors whose numbers are rapidly
increasing due to their ease of installation and instantaneous data gathering. The traffic sensors use a K band radar signal that is periodically emitted over the roadway
to sense the traffic density of major routes. The resulting data are then transmitted to a central system for use in traffic management and routing programs heavily relied
upon by GPS navigation systems. The unintended consequence is that all competitor radar detectors, and some older ESCORT units, respond with a false alert to the annoying
signals. However, ESCORT's proprietary Traffic Sensor Rejection Software successfully combats the interference and allows their radar detectors, including the older
models, to be upgraded to ignore the false alert signals. The Tune Up is a full technical performance test and detailed inspection of all critical components of the
submitted radar detector and specifically includes the Traffic Sensor Rejection Software update which updates the customers' early model technology making it immune to the
traffic sensor false alerts. The Tune Up also includes bringing the unit up to ship release production standards.
ESCORT, the creativity and innovation king, is not one to miss an opportunity, hence the Test Drive portion of the Spring campaign. Selected VIP customers with
exceedingly loyal product purchase histories will be offered a free Test Drive unit of their choice. The Test Drive is a 30 day, no charge use of any of ESCORT's current
high end models including: the new PASSPORT iQ, the world's first radar detector with full GPS navigation built in; PASSPORT 9500ix, the world's most intelligent radar
detector; RedLine, the world's longest range radar detector; the new Solo S3, the world's best performing cordless radar detector; and the very popular PASSPORT 8500 X50
series, available in red or blue display.
Eligible customers will be invited to drive with a new product entirely risk free. Then, at the end of their drive, if they choose to keep the test drive unit, ESCORT
will buy back their older model radar detector and apply the credit to the new purchase. With ESCORT you can't go wrong—with ESCORT, you drive smarter.
