Once you are notified to a threat, our SmartCord makes it easy to temporarily silence your radar detector. And don't worry, our detectors are smart enough to sense another threat and alert you in time. Even when muted, the meter on the detector will still flash the threat level and strength until you are safely out of range. Get an extra cord for each of your vehicles to make moving the detector between cars easy. For radar detector models:

The SmartCord on my red 8500 X50 was one of my favorite features on the unit, but recently I somehow lost the cord and worried that it was gone forever. Having the mute button at the tip of my finger was very nice since I have a very deep dash and leaning up to hit the mute button on the radar detector itself was kind of a pain.

I was very happy to find out I could get a replacement cord just like the one that came with the original unit instead of just a generic version that did not include the smart plug option. I also like the bonus LED on the smart plug since it is down out of sight from those outside of my car but easy for me to see.
