Having a USB cable is essential to be able to connect my radar detector to my laptop so that I can update the software and backup any of my personal settings. Of course I cannot seem to keep up with these as I should so I purchased a couple of extra cables to use with my unit. Now I have one in my laptop bag, one in the glove box, and yet a third in the case that holds my radar detector.

There is no use in having a radar detector that knows the locations of camera radar units if you do not keep the unit updated with the locations on these cameras. It is quick and simple with this USB cable and a laptop.
