If you are seeing a message indicating that your subscription has expired in our mobile app, this relates only to the app and not the Defender Database subscription. The Defender Database is a separate subscription that allows you to download and store relevant locations onto your radar detector. IS IT SEPARATE FROM THE ESCORT SITE ?? I'M SURE I CAN HANDLE UPDATING THE DETECTOR, WHEN AN UPDATE BECOMES AVAILABLE, USING THE WEB PAGE, BUT THIS SEEMS ALMOST INDEPENDENT OF THE ESCORT SITE,,, UNLESS I'M MISSING SOMETHING ?? A: Thank you for your question. The Defender Database is a separate subscription from our mobile apps, and a cell phone is not required. The Defender Database will store red light camera/speed trap alerts directly into your detector's internal memory. Once purchased, you will receive an activation code via email. After applying the activation code, you can update the database over WiFi if your device is WiFi compatible, or via Detector Tools. If you need assistance, please contact Customer Support at 800-543-1608.
